Training in Job Description and Job Evaluation (JE)

In this course we teach participants how to conduct Job Analysis, Job Description and Job Evaluation surveys.

The purpose of job evaluation (JE) is to guarantee a neutral and unbiased professional classification system based on the application of the principle of equal pay for work of the same value (art. 28 of the Workers' Statute) and which has become essential in companies since the entry into force of Royal Decree 902/2020 of 13 October, on equal pay for men and women.

Thus, JE (VPT) is a method for defining the organisational structure of a company, the professional groups of each group of employees as well as the performance required for each position within the company in order to be able to assign and define the jobs according to this scale and to establish a fair and equitable salary range for each of them.

Hence, the purpose of this training is to enable participants to conduct these Job Evaluation studies in their own company.

Course contents:

  • Procedure to be followed for Job Description and subsequent Job Evaluation.
  • Job Evaluation Manual:
    • Factor index.
    • Scoring scale.
    • Scoring limits of professional groups.
  • Modification of work stations.

Both Itemsa´s general manager David Calvo as well as our technical director Albert Calvo are members of the Technical Commission of Work Organisation of the Labour Court of Catalonia (TLC), which provides them with a broad vision regarding the performance of Work Organisation studies (Methods-Time-Measurement, Professional Categories and Job Evaluation, Work Organisation and Incentive Systems, etc.) at companies in any sector. Moreover, the most widely used Job Evaluation Manual in companies is precisely the one created by this Commission.
