The President of the Government knows our company at the special event Noche Empresarial del Penedès (Business Night Penedès), and the 2011 Unió Empresarial del Penedès Awards ceremony.
Artur Mas, president of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Autonomous Government of Catalonia), has chaired the Business Night Penedès and the 2011 Awards ceremony of the Unió Empresarial del Penedès, held at the Celler Waltraud of Bodegues Torres, on Monday, July 4, 2011.
During the ceremony, before a large business, political and institutional representation, the Catalan president answered a question from ITEMSA, which was one out of the five selected. The subject of the question was in fact one of the basis of Mas’ speech in the evening. ‘We have lived several negative years regarding the productivity of enterprises, but this trend is being corrected and the government will work on factors such as infrastructure, innovation and FP (professional training) to help increase it’, the president said.
‘Competitiveness and productivity will be very important differentiating factors among the countries in the coming years’, Mas said. And he defended the measures that his Govern is promoting, like the omnibus law. ‘It is a first step -he said- to remove part of the excessive bureaucracy of our country, offering advantages instead of putting obstacles’.
Mas sent a message of optimism by noting that there are many people in Catalonia who prove that ‘we can grow, invest and create jobs’ even in difficult times. President Mas urged employers for ‘efforts’ in order to ‘manage to reverse the situation and become stronger’ he pointed out.
