Competitiveness and productivity will be key factors to promote the Catalan industry in the coming years, the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya highlights.
On Monday 12 March, the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Artur Mas, met ITEMSA’s management team at the Government’s seat, the Palau de la Generalitat.
During the meeting, ITEMSA’s founder, José Calvo, Managing Director, David Calvo, and Technical Director, Albert Calvo formally introduced the Company and had the opportunity to know firsthand the Government’s aims regarding the policies to promote business development in this parliamentary term.
The Catalan president stressed that competitiveness and productivity must be the key factors to promote the Catalan industry in the coming years, as it is confirmed in paragraph 1.9. of the Pla de Govern 2011-2014 (Government’s Plan), which emphasizes that we must ‘encourage public and private cooperation and enhance the multichannel communication between companies and the Generalitat, as well as improve the interrelation between the ITC sector and the companies to increase productivity and competitiveness through technology’.
President Mas was very interested in the projects developed and the plans for the future of ITEMSA, one of the few SMEs that has defied the crisis by showing a continuous and strong growth over the last decade. The Catalan chief executive said that he is confident that examples like ITEMSA give hope and encourage the creation of new companies in Catalonia.
Artur Mas reaffirmed his commitment to enhance and improve productivity in Catalan companies and presaged a very profitable future in the hope that the sum of efforts made by companies such as ITEMSA contribute to the overall progress of the country.
